Our Planning, Environment and Public Law team is recognised as one of the leading practices in the sector and provides a broad range of planning, environment and public law legal services to a broad range of clients, including state government, local government, statutory authorities, developers and individuals. We are seeking a highly skilled Associate or junior Senior Associate to join our team based in Melbourne CBD.

The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and talented lawyer with a minimum of 4 years experience in planning and environment or public law to join our Planning, Environment, and Public Law team as an Associate or Senior Associate (subject to experience). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative and supportive environment that offers challenging and diverse work and opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis on planning, environment, and public law matters

  • Drafting legal documents, including briefs, submissions, advice and agreements

  • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of cases before courts and tribunals, including opportunities for advocacy

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and industry networks

  • Contributing to team meetings, including contributing to discussions on cases and recent developments in the sector, collaborating on practice improvements and developing innovative legal solutions

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Be admitted as a lawyer in Australia with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in planning and environment or public law

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality legal services to clients

  • Team player
